Newcastle United have become the latest Premier League side to have a look at Papa Badou Ndiaye.

It has been a frustrating month so far for the Magpies, with speculation surrounding a potential takeover at St James’ Park seemingly harming Benitez’s ability to get deals done in the window.

That has seemingly not stopped the Newcastle boss looking however, with the Mail reporting on their live transfer feed (16th January 2018; 14:08) that they are interested in signing the Galatasaray holding midfielder.

The Mail adds that the Senegal international could command a fee of £18 million as that would trigger the release clause in his contract – and that may be where Magpies fans start to become less optimistic about their chances.
Sky Sports reported on Friday that Benitez was unsure regarding what his budget for this window actually is, and with the uncertainty continuing regarding the ownership, trying to get the club to spend as much as £18 million on one player looks set to be an extremely difficult task for the Spaniard.
