Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Benik Afobe has been linked with Norwich City and Newcastle United.
Newcastle United are interested in signing Benik Afobe from Wolverhampton Wanderers before the end of the summer transfer window, according to The Sunday People.
It has been reported by the British newspaper that Premier League outfit Newcastle are on the look-out for a new striker and have identified the Wolves youngster as a potential target.
According to the report, the Magpies will “test Wolves’ claim that they intend to hang on to” the former Arsenal prospect.
Last week, the Championship club released a statement on their official website insisting that the 22-year-old will not be sold.
However, speculation persists on the future of Afobe, who has been linked with a move to Newcastle’s Premier League rivals Norwich City this summer.
According to The Sun, the Canaries are ready to offer £40,000 a week to the striker in order to sign him from Wolves.

The youngster had a pass accuracy of 78% and a shot accuracy of 74%, and won 52 headers, 32 dribbles and 10 tackles.
Afobe has already started banging in the goals this season, finding the target twice in four Championship matches.
