According to The Mirror, Newcastle United are interested in Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi ahead of the summer transfer window.

It’s claimed that Chelsea could have a clearout this summer, as they near a deal to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.

One player touted to go is striker Batshuayi, who would slip behind Tammy Abraham, Olivier Giroud and Werner in the Chelsea pecking order.

It’s stated that West Ham are long-term admirers of Batshuayi, but both Crystal Palace and Newcastle both hold an interested in the Belgian.

Batshuayi allegedly ‘has admirers’ at both Newcastle and Palace, with the three Premier League clubs potentially going head to head to head for him this summer.

Batshuayi, 26, has hit 25 goals in 77 games for Chelsea since his £33million move from Marseille, but may need to leave in search of regular playing time.

He’s only scored six times this season, and has started just five times in all competitions. It seems that Frank Lampard doesn’t trust him enough to start, so Newcastle could swoop in and give him a permanent home.

Since joining from Marseille in 2016, Batshuayi has been loaned out three times; to Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Palace, with his stint in Spain the only failure.

With Newcastle potentially being taken over this summer, they could have the funds to blow West Ham and Palace out of the water for Batshuayi – thought the riches would also give them a shot at even bigger-name strikers too.
