Newcastle could be about to enter the January market.

French newspaper L’Equipe have claimed Newcastle United and Rafa Benitez want to sign Olympique Lyonnais attacker Martin Terrier, and have made an enquiry.
Terrier, 21, has an impressive CV for someone so young. He has turned out 21 times at senior level for Lyon so far, scoring four goals for the Ligue 1 side. He is just another example of Lyon’s impressive youth system.
The France Under-21 international has also played 15 times for Lyon, and 29 times for RC Strasbourg. Versatile and composed in front of goal, Terrier can play out wide, in the 10 role or up front.
Newcastle are yet to sign any players this month but with Benitez’s men sitting in 17th place, the Spaniard is desperate to bring in some new signings to push The Toon higher up the table and away from a relegation dogfight.

Terrier even made two appearances in the Champions League this season, and the report claims Newcastle are looking to land Terrier on a six-month loan which would see him remain on Tyneside until the end of the season.
However, the report claims Lyon are not fond of the idea of losing Terrier, who has indeed made all 21 Lyon appearances this season. Terrier is renowned for his electrifying pace, but also his ability on the ball.
