Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing the West Bromwich Albion forward.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Newcastle are in talks with West Brom to sign Salomon Rondon for £16.5 million, as Rafa Benitez looks to move quickly after the Toon accepted a bid from Fulham for Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The Magpies are in desperate need of more firepower in the final third, and whilst Rondon is far from prolific, he does have an impressive work-rate and team ethic.
Sky Sports claims that Newcastle are in talks with West Brom to sign the 28-year-old forward for somewhere in the region of £16.5 million.
They also go on to suggest that Rafa could offer Dwight Gayle as part of the deal that would see Rondon head to St James’ Park.

The Venezuelan joined the Baggies from Zenit Saint Petersburg in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £12 million, and he has gone on to score 28 goals in 120 appearances in all competitions.
Rondon is a solid player, but it is hard to argue that his arrival on Tyneside combined with Gayle’s exit will actually make Newcastle any stronger as a team.
