Newcastle are said to have contacted PSG over a move.
Sky Sports have claimed on their Transfer Centre (Thursday, 15:29) that Newcastle United are in talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Stanley N’Soki this summer.
The Toon are likely to be in the market for another central defender after French stopper Florian Lejeune picked up an injury that could see him sidelined until the new year.
Newcastle have already lured Fabian Schar to St. James’ Park for a bargain fee of just £3million, after previous club Deportivo La Coruna were relegated to the second tier of Spanish football.
But that injury to Lejuene leaves Newcastle with just captain Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark and new signing Schar, and Benitez is seemingly keen to bring in another central defender after completing his fifth signing this summer.
The Toon have brought in Yoshinori Muto from Mainz, and now N’Soki could be the next player to move to Newcastle with PSG requesting just £7million for the 19-year-old’s services.
He has a year remaining on his contract and the report claims that Newcastle have already opened talks over a move to land the France Under-20 international.
He has made only one senior appearance for PSG, but he has been involved in their pre-season fixtures against Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.
