According to The Times, Newcastle United have only received one cash offer this summer – and it was worth just £300,000.
It’s claimed that the Magpies have been hoping to flog players this summer in order to raise funds nad make room for new recruits.
However, there has allegedly been only one offer for a player this summer, and was Rotherham United’s £300,000 bid for Dan Barlaser.
Newcastle seemingly rejected that bid, as Barlaser hasn’t left the club – but Rotherham haven’t returned with a new offer either.
Barlaser, 23, spent last season on loan at Rotherham, notching two goals and five assists in their promotion-winning campaign.
The midfielder recorded 68 key passes, the fourth-highest in League One last season, but it seems that first-team chances will be limited at Newcastle.

Now in the Championship, it’s no surprise that Rotherham want to keep Barlaser long-term, but they will have to do better than their £300,000 bid.
Newcastle may be open to selling Barlaser for a higher price, but it’s unlikely that he will bring in the riches that Bruce needs.
