Newcastle United continue to be linked with Hoffenheim’s Joelinton.

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United have a plan in place to pay for Hoffenheim striker Joelinton – but boss Rafael Benitez isn’t convinced.
The Magpies are still attempting to secure Benitez’s future with a new contract, and with ongoing takeover talk, transfers appear to be on the back burner right now.
However, Newcastle continue to be linked with strikers, from last season’s loanee Salomon Rondon to Club Brugge ace Wesley, it’s clear that the Magpies will be signing at least one centre forward this summer.
Now, The Chronicle report that Newcastle like Hoffenheim’s Joelinton, who has been linked throughout 2019, and have some sort of payment plan in place if they green light a move.
Whether that’s in instalments or some other way, it’s believed Newcastle think they can sign the Brazilian in what would surely be a club-record deal – but Benitez isn’t sure.
It’s stated that Benitez feels that Joelinton is good, but thinks the money can be used elsewhere, no doubt feeling that he can sign Rondon permanently and bolster other areas of his team just with the fee needed to get Joelinton.

The 22-year-old hit 11 goals and nine assists this past season, impressing not only in front of goal but also with his strength, hold-up play, link-up play, technique and pace.
Joelinton can become a truly all-round striker, but whether or not he ends up at Newcastle may well depend on Benitez’s decision – and the odds of him joining may actually increase if Benitez moves on.
