Newcastle United appear to be closing in on Joelinton.

According to The Telegraph, Newcastle United now have a deal in place to sign Hoffenheim striker Joelinton in what should be a club-record move.
The Magpies don’t even have a manager yet as the wrangle for Steve Bruce goes on, but recruitment chief Steve Nickson will have more power than he had under Rafael Benitez.
Nickson may now press ahead with new signings for Bruce to work with, and the Daily Mail reported earlier today that Newcastle were hoping to get Joelinton signed this week in a £36million, club-record deal.
Now, The Telegraph claim that a deal is in place for Joelinton to arrive at St James’ Park, which should be an exciting welcoming present for Bruce should he land the job.
Joelinton, 22, hit 11 goals and nine assists for Hoffenheim last season, showing his ability as an all-round striker who can score and create chances.
The Brazilian hitman is big and strong at 6ft 1in tall, but he’s also quick and skilful as well as dangerous in front of goal, representing a well-rounded striker to lead the line.

He has huge potential for the future too, and fits the centre forward mould that Salomon Rondon did last season, and it’s clear that Newcastle would be paying such a huge fee because of his potential.
With a deal allegedly in place, Newcastle fans may well see Joelinton arrive in a big-money move in the coming days, and seeing such a huge outlay on one player may at least appease some fans who are still upset over the exits of Benitez, Rondon and Ayoze Perez.
