Newcastle United can sign Nabil Bentaleb for a ‘low price’, according to the Shields Gazette, but Steve Bruce still hasn’t made up his mind about signing the Schalke midfielder.

Bentaleb joined Newcastle on loan in January, and he has had a mixed time at St. James’ Park so far.

The Algerian international has not exactly made himself a permanent starter for Newcastle, although he has proven to be a useful squad player on some occasions.

And Bruce seems to still be making his mind up over whether to actually bring Bentaleb in on a longer-term basis or not.

The good news for Newcastle is that it seems that they could pick him up cheaply if they do want to make his move permanent.

But Newcastle may feel that Bentaleb hasn’t quite done enough to suggest he would be worthwhile bringing in on a long-term basis.

The former Tottenham Hotspur man has made 13 appearances for the Magpies, although he is yet to score or claim an assist.

Even if Newcastle don’t choose to purchase Bentaleb, it seems that he now has no future back at parent club Schalke, as the German side prepare to offload him.
