According to Relevo journalist, Matteo Moretto, Newcastle United and Wolves have asked about Mallorca midfielder Kang-In Lee.
The Magpies have been linked with the South Korean a few times before, but now, with their newfound status as the richest club in the world, this move is a distinct possibility.
Lee is a very talented player. He’s currently representing his nation at the World Cup, and he’s been shining in La Liga for quite some time now.
He was at Valencia before heading to Mallorca, but this season is where he’s really come into his own, catching the eye of Newcastle.

It’s no secret that Newcastle want to add a bit more creativity to their midfield. They’ve been constantly linked with attacking midfielders such as James Maddison, but now, it seems as though a move for Lee could be on the agenda.
So, what type of player would Newcastle be getting here? Well, Total Football Analysis were quick to compare the South Korean to David Silva when profiling the player a few years ago, and we feel that is a very apt comparison.
Given his schooling at Valencia, Lee does have that Spanish edge to his style of play. He can find pockets of space with ease and when he gets on the ball he’s as comfortable as anyone.
There are bound to be questions around whether or not he’s physically ready for the Premier League, but with Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes alongside him in the middle of the park, his physical shortcomings could be masked quite easily in the Newcastle midfield.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on as the January transfer window approaches and the World Cup continues.
