Newcastle United will be in the market for new signings in January.
According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United have a mystery youth team signing lined up for January as they look to bolster their ranks.
The Magpies lost 3-0 at home to West Ham United on Saturday afternoon, bringing an end to their three-game winning run in resounding fashion.
Manager Rafael Benitez will be disappointing with the display, and it does just go to show that one off day can really hit Newcastle hard against a good Premier League side.
Benitez will be looking for January additions, and The Chronicle report that Newcastle do have a signing already lined up for January – but it’s for their youth team.
It’s believed the Newcastle academy will be welcoming a new face next month, but the player’s identity remains a mystery, with the Magpies seemingly hoping to bring through young talent.
Elias Sorensen, Sean Longstaff and Cal Roberts are just three young players you are making waves in the Newcastle ranks, and adding another player to that mix should be exciting for the future.
However, Benitez is hardly one to utilise youth, so this signing won’t really help the Newcastle cause this season, but could be hugely exciting for the future; potentially in a post-Benitez era.
