Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka is reportedly attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

According to a report from Kicker, Paris Saint-Germain have joined a number of Newcastle’s Premier League rivals in the race to sign Martin Dubravka this summer.

Dubravka has been an outstanding signing for the Magpies. After an incredibly impressive loan spell, he joined the club permanently last summer and went on to play every Premier League game last season as Newcastle registered a reasonable mid-table finish.

Unsurprisingly, his form has attracted plenty of attention. Kicker reports that several Premier League sides are interested in the Slovakia international, as are PSG should the Ligue 1 side sell Kevin Trapp this summer.

The report suggests that Dubravka could cost just over £8.9 million (€10 million). However, it would be a surprise if Newcastle were willing to sell for that figure, as it could quite easily cost considerably more to find an adequate replacement for the 30-year-old.

It would be a huge blow for Newcastle fans to see the club sell Dubravka just before the new campaign starts. He has established himself as one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the top flight, and has proved to be a significant upgrade on the other stoppers in the Magpies’ ranks.

Meanwhile, it would be interesting to see what Dubravka makes of the links. If PSG are interested, it seems unlikely that he would be first-choice at Parc des Princes, so he would need to weigh up whether he wants to be a key man on Tyneside or a more peripheral figure in a side that can offer Champions League football.
