Newcastle United have failed with another offer for Thiago Maia, according to a report in France.

Le10 Sport have reported that Newcastle United have failed with another move for Lille midfielder Thiago Maia.
The Brazilian powerhouse is known to Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez who, according to La Voix Du Nord, saw a bid rejected last month.
And now Le10 Sport reports that the Magpies have seen another offer turned down, with the French publication claiming that the Ligue 1 outfit have rebuffed a loan attempt by Benitez.
Maia, who played alongside Newcastle-linked Kenedy for Brazil Under-20s, joined the Stade Pierre-Mauroy side for £11 million last July, according to The Chronicle.
The former Santos star can play in central and defensive midfield, and it is possible that Benitez reportedly wants him in light of the seemingly imminent departure of Mikel Merino.
According to Sky Sports, the Spanish midfielder, who joined the St James’s Park side on a permanent deal in October after originally signing on a season-long loan from Borussia Dortmund last summer, is set to sign for Real Sociedad.
It remains to be seen whether Benitez goes back in for a third bid for Maia.
