Newcastle United are reportedly monitoring the young striker and plotting a January move.

Lammers is currently on loan at Heerenveen, and has scored six goals in 14 Eredivisie appearances. But Newcastle are weighing up whether they want to try and land the 21-year-old when the window opens next month.
The Daily Mirror (22/12; page 68) reports that Newcastle are ‘exploring a possible loan with a view to a permanent switch’. And the report adds that the final decision will lie with PSV, seemingly hinting that Heerenveen may be powerless to prevent the starlet leaving in January.
It must not be forgotten that the Magpies already have two players on loan, so would not be able to pursue another temporary deal as things stand.

Rafa Benitez’s side have hardly been prolific this term. Only one player has scored more than two Premier League goals so far, and they average less than a goal per game.
Lammers would be an intriguing addition to the Magpies squad. His height would be advantageous, but he seems to prefer picking up the ball from deep and running with it, and has a bag of tricks that he needs little encouragement to call upon.
Some of Lammers’ finishing is sublime and he is more than comfortable using either foot. He is, admittedly, clearly some way short of being the finished article, but he is showing plenty of potential and may be worth the risk if Benitez is working with a limited budget.
