Newcastle United are reportedly hoping to land Michy Batshuayi on loan from Chelsea.
According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United expect to tie up a deal for Chelsea wide man Kenedy this week – but a move for team-mate Michy Batshuayi has reportedly been put on hold.
The Magpies not only tied up a permanent deal fro Christian Atsu earlier this summer, but have also landed five new faces as Rafael Benitez has brought in Javier Manquillo, Florian Lejeune, Mikel Merino, Jacob Murphy and Joselu.

However, having lost 2-0 to Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day of the Premier League season last weekend, manager Benitez is still in the market for more new signings before the transfer deadline later this month.
Now, the Daily Mail report that, after weeks of speculation, Newcastle do expect to finally complete a deal for Chelsea wide man Kenedy this week, though they will have to wait for a decision from the Blues on striker Michy Batshuayi.
Kenedy, 21, joined Chelsea from Fluminense in his native Brazil back in 2015, and has so far notched two goals in 22 appearances for the Blues, though his career at Stamford Bridge is in a difficult state right now.
Not only did Kenedy get sent back from a torrid loan spell with Watford last season, but he was also sent home from Chelsea’s tour of China over controversial social media posts – and Kenedy, who can play anywhere up the left flank, needs a strong spell with Newcastle to get his career back on track.

However, it’s so far unclear whether Newcastle will be successful in a move for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, as the report claims that Chelsea want to delay a decision on the Belgian’s future for as long as possible.
Batshuayi, 23, hit five goals in 20 Premier League games last season following his move from Marseille last summer, but again finds himself as second choice under Antonio Conte behind Alvaro Morata, meaning that if Chelsea can sign a replacement – such as Fernando Llorente – then they could send Batshuayi on loan.
This is where things may get interesting though. Premier League clubs can’t take more than one player on loan from a rival Premier League club, meaning that if Newcastle do want to take Batshuayi on loan, then the Kenedy deal have to be a permanent one. Adding a buy-back clause would give Chelsea a way to keep some control of Kenedy’s future, but if the Brazilian’s move to St. James’ Park is a loan deal, then Batshuayi won’t be heading to Tyneside.
