Newcastle United could yet move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose this summer, the Telegraph report.

Newcastle had Rose on loan last season, but are yet to pursue a permanent move for the 30-year-old Spurs man.

That could all change though, according to the Telegraph, even though Newcastle have signed Jamal Lewis.

The report claims that Steve Bruce’s side could yet make an offer to Tottenham for the England international, who appears to have very little future at the club.

Rose has recently made headlines at Tottenham, after slating his own teammates to Jose Mourinho in the Amazon Prime documentary series – the full transcript of which can be read in the London Evening Standard.

That rant has done little to improve his standing with Tottenham fans.

Rose now seems to be fourth choice at Tottenham in the battle for the left-back spot, with Ben Davies, Dennis Cirkin and Ryan Sessegnon all favoured.

But if he was to Newcastle again he may not have such a direct route to their first-team as he did last season.

The addition of Lewis means that Newcastle are now well stocked at left-back, and Rose may find himself warming the bench if he did make a switch to St. James’ Park.
