According to the Chronicle, Newcastle United could yet return with another bid for Brighton and Hove Albion star Anthony Knockaert.

They have largely bee successful in their attempts too, with Rafa Benitez moving swiftly to add new players to his squad.

One man they failed to secure is Brighton winger Knockaert, with Chris Hughton’s side turning down a bid for his services according to the Argus.
They reported that the Magpies were willing to pay between £6 million and £10 million £10 million for the former Leicester City man.

The rejection does not appear to have deterred Benitez though with the Chronicle reporting that they could yet with another bid before the end of the transfer window.
Much is likely to rest on the future of Moussa Sissoko, with the French midfielder continuing to push for an exit.
Should he not end up leaving though, it would be surprising to see Newcastle United continue to push through with a move for Knockaert.
