Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United could now reportedly make an offer for Jesper Lindstrom, a player Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have also been linked with.

In March 2023, Sport1 reported that Arsenal are interested in signing Jesper Lindstrom, adding that the Gunners had made contact with his club Eintracht Frankfurt, but it seems that it is Newcastle United who are pressing ahead with a potential move.

Bild have reported that Newcastle and AC Milan are preparing offers for Lindstrom, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder.

Frankfurt want €30-40 million (£25.77-£34.36 million) in transfer fees for the 23-year-old, which should not be a problem for Newcastle, according to the report in the German publication.

Could Newcastle United sign Jesper Lindstrom?

In our opinion, Newcastle United could be able to sign Jesper Lindstrom ahead of Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal have already signed Kai Havertz from Chelsea.

The Germany international can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder.

So, it is unlikely that Arsenal will now sign Lindstrom, who is a similar sort of player.

That the Gunners made contact with Frankfurt in March shows that the North London club rate him highly.

Newcastle should be able to convince the youngster to move to St. James’ Park.

After all, the Magpies will play in the UEFA Champions League next season and will also aim to finish in the top four of the Premier League table yet again.

Lindstrom made 22 starts and five substitute appearances in the Bundesliga last season, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in the process.
