Goal have reported that Newcastle and Aston Villa are interested in Arsenal left-back Tierney.

Both the Magpies and the Villans “could make some big bids for the left-back once the season comes to an end”, according to the report.

Tierney, described as “phenomenal” by former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson in The Mirror in November 2022, has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal, with Oleksandr Zinchenko ahead of him in the starting lineup now.

In our view, Kieran Tierney would be a very good signing for Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.

Now, the 25-year-old may not the kind of left-back that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants in his system, but he is a very good player who won trophies after trophies with Celtic.

Injuries have affected the Scotland international in the Premier League, but when he is fully fit and in form, he is a marvel to behold.

We believe that Tierney would be a brilliant addition to a Newcastle team who are likely to end up in the Premier League top four this season.

The 25-year-old is used to playing in Europe’s premier club competition, so the left-back will be useful for Newcastle if they get into the UEFA Champions League next season.
