Everton and Arsenal have both spoken to Adrien Rabiot’s mother and agent regarding a move to the Premier League but, according to TuttoJuve, Newcastle United could blow their rivals out of the water.

The Rabiot family are back in the headlines over in Italy and, surprise surprise, it seems that this is another story that will end in acrimonious circumstances.

Just a year ago, it felt like barely a day would go by without Veronique Rabiot accusing Paris Saint-Germain of one thing or another as her son spent his final few months at the Parc des Princes in the bomb squad.

While Rabiot’s time in Turin has not been quite as controversial, it has certainly been underwhelming. The fiery France international has struggled to secure a first-team place in Maurizio Sarri’s team and looks set to turn his back on yet another European giant in the off-season.

The 25-year-old appears to be on his way to England at last and he is not short of suitors, even if he would arrive with baggage by the bucket load. Arsenal and Everton have held talks with Veronique, one of the most influential female figures at the top level of European football, with a one-time Manchester City trainee in their sights.

But, according to TuttoJuve, the Toffees and the Gunners could not match Newcastle when it comes to the size of the contract. The Magpies are still stuck in the vice-like grip of Mike Ashley, but reports suggest they will be under the control of a Saudi Arabian billionaire by the start of next month (The Sun).

Rabiot’s £115,000-a-week wages might be an obstacle for Everton, according to L’Equipe. But a Saudi-funded Newcastle side could leap over this hurdle like Sally Gunnell in her prime.
