According to The Telegraph, Newcastle United are now in talks to sign two new players, with both deals close to being done.
The Magpies threw away a 1-0 lead at Watford on Saturday afternoon, falling to a 2-1 defeat as Troy Deeney bagged two penalties for the hosts.
Bruce won’t want the season to peter out having secured survival, and despite questions over his future as manager, the Magpies are pressing ahead with signings.
It’s claimed that deals for two new players are close to being done, though no names are given on who could be arriving on Tyneside in the near future.
The report does suggest that they could be loan moves turning permanent, with Danny Rose ‘almost certain’ to join full-time from Tottenham Hotspur, whilst Nabil Bentaleb and Valentino Lazaro are also on loan.
One sensible suggestion would be Arnaud Lusamba. The playmaker is leaving Nice this summer on a free transfer, and Newcastle really seem to want him.

The Chronicle claimed last month that Newcastle head of recruitment Steve Nickson had laid most of the groundwork for a deal that would see Lusamba join the Magpies as a free agent.
It would be little surprise if the 23-year-old Frenchman was one of the players close to joining Newcastle, adding depth to the midfield options without spending a transfer fee ahead of a possible takeover.
