Newcastle United are reportedly keen on Martin Dubravka and Michael Krmencik.
According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United are hoping to secure a deal for Sparta Prague goalkeeper Martin Dubravka – and are also keen on Viktoria Plzen’s Michael Krmencik.
The Magpies sealed their first January signing last week by bringing in Chelsea talent Kenedy on loan until the end of the season, but Rafael Benitez needs more additions.
Newcastle find themselves just one point clear of the relegation zone, and after a poor display in the 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup on Sunday, the Magpies must find more signings to boost their season.
Benitez will hope for multiple additions in the coming days, and the Daily Mail report that the Magpies are hopeful of signing Sparta Prague goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, and also want Viktoria Plzen striker Michael Krmencik.
Newcastle have been pursuing a deal for goalkeeper Dubravka throughout the month, and there is now a belief that the Magpies will finally manage to secure his signature before the deadline.
Dubravka, 29, only joined Sparta from Slovan Liberec last summer, but has impressed enough this season to earn interest from Benitez, with the nine-cap Slovakian international now lined up to replace Karl Darlow in the Newcastle goal.
One raid on Czech football may not be enough for Newcastle though, as it’s added that Plzen hitman Krmencik is another target as Benitez looks to boost his attacking options.
Krmencik, 24, is understood to be valued at £10million, has hit 16 goals in 20 games this season, as well as notching six goals in 10 caps for the Czech Republic, and he may be an under-the-radar target for Newcastle’s struggling attack.
