Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has reportedly spoken to a number of European heavyweights over potential loan deals.

Benitez has been able to bring in three signings during this window. Martin Dubravka’s loan was made permanent, while Kenedy has returned for the coming season and Ki Sung-yueng has joined on a free transfer following the end of his deal with Swansea.
The Chronicle reports that Benitez has not got a significant amount of funds to work with and had abandoned plans for a summer holiday for a third year in a row as he looks to use what money he does have as smartly as possible.
And it appears that bolstering his squad using the loan market has been on his radar. The Chronicle suggests that Benitez made contact with several European heavyweights, including PSG, Roma and Inter Milan about the possibility of potentially taking any of their players on loan, but his enquiries have not proved successful.

It will be a huge blow for Benitez if the Newcastle hierarchy do not give him a decent amount of funds to spend in the final weeks of the window. While the Magpies finished in the top-half of the Premier League last season, they had looked to be in trouble for some of the campaign and had to put together a remarkable run of form to soar up the table.
They could replicate that achievement, but with many of their rivals showing some serious ambition in the transfer market, Benitez arguably has every right to be concerned, especially as the window shuts before a competitive ball is kicked.
