Newcastle’s chances of keeping Kenedy are beginning to fade.

Goal.com claim Newcastle United have suffered another blow in their bid to keep Chelsea winger Kenedy after an excellent loan spell at St. James’ Park, with RB Leipzig joining the race to sign the Brazilian.

The 22-year-old excelled for the Toon since joining the club on loan from Antonio Conte’s Chelsea in the January transfer window, making 13 appearances for Rafa Benitez’s side in their bid to avoid relegation.

Indeed, Kenedy joined the club when the situation looked dire. With the Toon staring relegation in the face, the wing wizard pulled them from the abyss and pushed them towards their miraculous 10th-placed finish.

Kenedy himself scored two goals against Southampton in a 3-0 win, while providing assists against Burnley and Huddersfield. In his 13 games, Newcastle won five, drew three and lost five.

It is obvious, then, that Benitez will want to keep Kenedy on Tyneside, but Kenedy has already been linked with moves to Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain. Now, RB Leipzig have joined the race.

Leipzig could well be a tempting proposition for Kenedy, with the club known for their faith in youngsters. Ademola Lookman has shined on loan from Everton at Leipzig this season, while Timo Werner is now Germany’s number one striker.
