Newcastle United are seemingly keen to keep an eye on what decision Stoke City come to in their pursuit of Manchester City’s Fabian Delph.
According to a report from The Sun, Newcastle United have asked to be kept informed of any updates regarding Stoke City’s pursuit of Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph.
The Sun reports that Delph is free to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer with Pep Guardiola viewing the Englishman to be well down the pecking order, and City will sell the 27-year-old for £14 million.

The Sun adds that the Potters have seen a £10 million bid rejected by the Citizens, but it appears that the Magpies have decided to wait in the wings, having asked to be kept updated when it comes to the midfielder’s situation.
With Stoke seemingly not too far away from City’s valuation, it would perhaps not be the greatest surprise if Mark Hughes’ men seriously consider coming back with an offer that is worth £14 million – and therefore, it may not be too long before it becomes clear just how interested Newcastle are.
Perhaps, Rafa Benitez is hoping that Stoke will lose interest and City’s desire to raise funds will tempt them into accepting an offer short of their current asking price at some stage before the window shuts.
But it may also suggest that if Stoke do meet City’s valuation, then Newcastle will seriously consider whether to rival them and match their offer before they miss out.
