According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United are interested in signing Dion Sanderson, currently on loan at Sunderland from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It has been reported that Newcastle scouts have watched Sanderson in action for their bitter rivals Sunderland this season.
The report has added that other clubs in the Premier League have also been monitoring the 21-year-old defender, who joined League One outfit Sunderland on loan from Wolves in the summer of 2020.
Progressing at Sunderland
Sanderson is only 21 years of age, and it is clear that the Englishman is a player who is one for the future.
The defender has been progressing well at Sunderland this season and has established himself as an important player for the Black Cats.

According to WhoScored, the Wolves-owned defender has made 17 starts and seven substitute appearances in League One for Sunderland so far this campaign, scoring one goal in the process.
Sunderland are third in the League One table at the moment with 71 points from 38 matches, two points behind second-placed Peterborough United, who have played 39 games, and five points behind leaders Hull City, who have played 40 matches.
