Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are both interested in making a loan bid for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.
Alphonse Areola
Areola has featured in every single Ligue 1 game this season, keeping three clean sheets for the big-spending PSG. Nevertheless, The Sun on Sunday reports that he is slightly apprehensive about his future at Parc des Princes.

The Sun on Sunday (17th September 2017; page 63) reports that Areola is aware that PSG are keen on recruiting a big-name stopper – with Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid previously on their radar – and thus, the former France under-21 international is keen on potentially seeking a move to the Premier League.
The Sun on Sunday names Newcastle and Crystal Palace as two sides who are contemplating the possibility of making a bid for the 24-year-old, who has previously left PSG for Lens, Bastia and Villarreal, all on loan.

It is certainly no surprise that the Eagles are considering making a move for a talented goalkeeper, having started the Premier League season incredibly poorly, with no points won and eight goals conceded in their first five games.
Meanwhile, while Newcastle do not appear to have an undisputed number one in their ranks, Rafa Benitez can undoubtedly be happy with their start to the season defensively.
They sit fourth in the table with only four goals conceded in their first five games, and two of those goals came once they were down to 10 men against last season’s title-challengers Tottenham on the opening day.
But with Areola making a fantastic start to the season, Benitez may perhaps feel that bringing him to St James’ Park would see the Magpies find their number one. And if his path to the first-team becomes congested at PSG, perhaps it may not be out of the question to suggest that something more permanent may appeal to all parties.
