According to RPP Noticias in Peru, Deportivo Municipal have now accepted an offer from Newcastle United for playmaker Rodrigo Vilca.

It’s claimed that Vilca will play his final game for Deportivo Municipal on Wednesday, and barring any hitches, he will travel to Newcastle in the early stages of October.

The 21-year-old will cost around £250,000 according to the Daily Mail, and their report suggests that he will be loaned straight out.

Newcastle allegedly have concerns about Vilca’s physical attributes, and believe he need time out on loan before playing in the Premier League.

Vilca has bagged three goals and three assists in his last 12 games for Deportivo Municipal, emerging as a real talent in Peru.

Predominantly a number 10, Vilca could end up following in the footsteps of Nobby Solano in becoming a Peruvian favourite at St James’ Park.

In fact, Solano told The Chronicle just last week that he thinks Vilca is ‘very technically gifted’, but is surprised to see Newcastle making a move.

With the reports in Peru suggesting that a deal is close, Vilca can become Newcastle’s new long-term project with a view to becoming a first-team ace.
