According to the Chronicle, Newcastle United are closing in on the £2.9 million signing of Palermo left back Achraf Lazaar.
The Magpies have been extremely busy this summer, adding nine new faces to their squad so far.
The defence has seen particular improvement, with Grant Hanley, Ciaran Clark, Jesus Gamez and DeAndre Yedlin all arriving to overhaul that area of the team.

They are still keen to add to their options, especially at left back, with Paul Dummett currently lacking any serious competition for his place.
They had targeted a loan move for Everton youngster Brendan Galloway but he elected to make a move to West Bromwich Albion instead.

That has seen Benitez look elsewhere and it appears he is now closing in on the signing of Palermo full back Lazaar.
According to the Chronicle, a £2.9 million fee has been agreed between the two clubs while the player has already been offered a five-year deal at St James Park.
They report that the Magpies are keen to get the move completed as soon as possible and bring him to the club over the weekend.
