Newcastle United continue to be linked with Miguel Almiron.

According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United are £8million away from striking a deal with Atlanta United for playmaker Miguel Almiron.
The Magpies are yet to bring in any new faces during this month’s transfer window, but undoubtedly need reinforcements to bolster Rafael Benitez’s squad.
With Ayoze Perez still failing to impress consistently as a No. 10, Rafael Benitez has made Atlanta United star Almiron his top target this month.
The Daily Mail now report that Newcastle have offered a club-record £17million for Almiron, but they remain a considerable distance from a deal, as Atlanta want £8million more.
£25million for a player unproven outside of Paraguay, Argentina and the United States would be a huge gamble for Newcastle, but Benitez is absolutely convinced, and his MLS numbers are impressive.
Last term, Almiron hit 13 goals and 13 assists as Atlanta won the MLS Cup, whilst the 24-year-old picked up admirers thanks to his pace and creativity in the final third; attributes that Newcastle desperately need.

The problem is that Newcastle are still some way off a deal, and agent Daniel Campos told ABC on Wednesday that if the Magpies don’t pay up, then other clubs in England, Germany, Italy and Spain could hijack them.
Whilst that huge gap in valuations exists, Newcastle leave themselves open to being hijacked – and with The Sun claiming Everton and West Ham United are keen, the ultimate nightmare of Benitez’s top target heading to another Premier League club cannot be ruled out.
