According to Le Parisien, new Rennes president Nicolas Holveck wants around €20million (£18million) for Tottenham Hotspur target M’Baye Niang.
It’s claimed that Rennes have no intention of selling Niang for a loss. The global pandemic has lured clubs into thinking that they could land Niang for a bargain price.
However, having paid €15million for him last summer, Rennes now want at least €18million to €20million for their star hitman. That’s around £16million to £18million.
New president Holveck would seemingly let Niang go for that price, with Rennes already looking for a potential replacement in Amiens striker Serhou Guirassy.
Tottenham’s interest is repeated in this report. It’s stated that Spurs have shown an interest in Niang, rivalling Marseille for his signature.
They appear to be the two clubs in the race right now. Marseille are yet to push forward with their move, giving Tottenham a window of opportunity.

Niang, 25, starred with Rennes this season. With 15 goals in all competitions, the Senegalese attacker – who can play out wide or up front – started to fulfil his potential.
Tottenham’s budget won’t be huge this summer, so Holveck wanting a profit may be an issue for them. Marseille are in a similar boat though, so this could be a stand-off for a while yet.
