However, two R’s stars currently earn more than double that.

Queens Park Rangers have adopted a new policy in which £20,000 is the maximum they will pay per week to any player, the Independent reports.

However, two R’s players are said to earn more than double that amount, having arrived prior to the new policy’s implementation.

They are Brazil midfielder Sandro and England centre-back Steven Caulker, which has prevented the White City side from moving them on.

Another midfielder Tjaronn Chery – the subject of the Independent’s article – is said to earn roughly £12,000 a week, despite having arrived at Loftus Road from the top tier of Dutch football.

QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hassebaink has conducted an overhaul of his playing staff since taking the reins from Chris Powell in December 2015.

A Premier League side 18 months ago, QPR have waved goodbye to a number of big names and suspected high earners since then, with Junior Hoilett, Matt Phillips and Leroy Fer all moved on during the summer transfer window.

They were replaced with a handful of cheaper alternatives, made up mostly of Football League and overseas players.
