Leeds face new competition for Abel Hernandez.

Leeds United face a new competitor in their efforts to land striker Abel Hernandez.

Turkish newspaper Takvim report Galatasaray have entered the running to sign the Uruguayan.

Hernandez will officially become a free agent when his Hull City contract expires at the end of June.

Leeds are in pole position to sign Hernandez, the Yorkshire Evening Post reported this week, after making the player a substantial offer.

The report claimed he is in advanced talks with the Whites.

Hernandez scored eight goals in his last 10 games for Hull after bouncing back from a knee injury.

If Hernandez is set on staying in England then Galatasaray’s interest can quickly be discounted.

However the Turkish side can offer top flight football with a chance of challenging for the Super Lig title, with the side winning the league this past season.

This also means they can offer Hernandez a chance to play in the Champions League next season.
