According to The Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur are facing competition from Manchester United for goalkeeper Nick Pope.
It has been reported that United are interested in signing Pope from Burnley in the summer of 2021 as a potential replacement for David de Gea.
The report has credited Spurs with interest in the 28-year-old England international, claiming that he could replace Hugo Lloris, who is on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain.
The Daily Mail reported in February interest from Tottenham as well as West Ham United in Pope, who has been at Burnley since 2016 and has played over 100 league games and impressed Jurgen Klopp so much in July 2020 that the Liverpool manager called him “sensational”, as quoted in talkSPORT.
Stiff competition
United look set to finish in the Premier League top four, while West Ham are very much in the running for the Champions League places.
This means that Spurs will have to finish in the top four or win the Europa League to qualify for the Champions League next season if they are to compete with the Red Devils and the Hammers for Pope.
