Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have been linked with Raphinha, but it seems that it is Barcelona and Chelsea who are going to fight it out for the Leeds United winger.
Arsenal and Newcastle United want Leeds United’s Raphinha
Earlier this week, The Northern Echo reported that Newcastle have held talks with Leeds over the signing of Raphinha from Premier League rivals Leeds.
Although Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe would love to sign the Brazil international winger (The Daily Mail), the Magpies are not willing to pay the £60 million transfer fee that Leeds wants.
The Times and 90min have reported that Arsenal have made a bid for Raphinha, but it is below the West Yorkshire club’s valuation.

Barcelona make new bid for Chelsea target
And now well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Barcelona have submitted a new bid to rival that of Chelsea.
Romano has claimed that Chelsea and Leeds have reached an agreement over a £60 million deal for the winger, but Barcelona have now made a bid of their own.
The Times have claimed that the former La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners are willing to pay £60 million for the former Rennes star.
It seems that Arsenal and Newcastle will likely to miss out on the signing of Raphinha to either Chelsea or Barcelona.
