Oliveira was left with nasty facial wounds following Villa’s 0-0 draw with Reading.

The Times have claimed that Reading striker Nelson Oliveira is “disgruntled” with The FA’s decision not to charge Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings with any form of punishment, despite suffering facial injuries following Saturday’s match.
During the 0-0 draw, Mings’ landed his boot on Portugal international Oliveira’s face, leaving the striker with extensive cuts and a broken nose. He required surgery and stitches to correct the problem.
Mings, 25, joined Villa on loan from Premier League side AFC Bournemouth in January, and the defender has history of this kind of altercation after an incident with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in March 2017.
Whether the on-loan defender deliberately trod on Oliveira’s face remains up for debate, but even Oliveira’s wife has called for a ban, posting on her Instagram: “There’s absolutely no excuse for his behaviour. He knew where his head was.”
BBC Sport reported that The FA have stated Mings will face no retrospective action as the incident was adjudged accidental by ref Geoff Eltringham. Rules state that The FA cannot take post-match action, if the ref did not punish Mings during the match.
Mings has pleaded his innocence, stating it was accidental but the Times report that Oliveira feels ‘a sense of disgruntlement’ over the FA’s decision not to punish Mings.
