Celtic take on Hearts on the final day of the season this Sunday.
According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic’s interim boss Neil Lennon may hand teenager Karamoko Dembele his Bhoys debut this weekend.
Celtic have already tied up the Scottish Premiership title, and after their dismal display in the 2-0 Old Firm defeat to Rangers on Sunday, the Bhoys need to fight back soon.
This weekend, Celtic take on Hearts in the Scottish Premiership, just a week before facing Craig Levein’s men in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park.
With Lennon potentially looking to save his star players for that cup final, we could see some fringe players feature for Celtic this weekend – including Karamoko Dembele.
Dembele, 16, has been touted for stardom at Celtic for some time now, playing above his age level since the age of 14, and he signed a professional deal back in December.
Now, it’s claimed that Lennon is considering handing Dembele his senior debut for Celtic, with the forward pulling out of the England Under-17 squad, seemingly hinting towards featuring on Sunday.
That would be a great moment for all, and really, there’s more to be gained from playing him over loan flop Oliver Burke at this point.
With Timothy Weah gone already, Dembele could take his spot in the Celtic squad, and give himself a real platform to impress over the summer transfer window.
