Aston Villa are one of the clubs credited with interest in the Watford midfielder.

The Watford midfielder, Nathaniel Chalobah, is minded to stay at Vicarage Road despite interest from Aston Villa and Udinese, according to the Daily Mail’s deadline day live blog [10:17].
Chalobah has only played 10 times for Watford this season, despite being called up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad last October.
But it would appear for whom the Hornets paid £5.7 million to sign 18 months ago [Transfermarkt] would rather fight for his place than drop to the Championship with Aston Villa, or return to Serie A with Udinese.
Villa have also been linked with a move for Newcastle United’s Isaac Hayden as they look to strengthen their defensive midfield options [Sky Sports].

But the Villans boss, Dean Smith, may have to look elsewhere if he is to plug the gap before Thursday’s 11pm transfer deadline.
Smith has already added the goalkeeper, Lovre Kalinic, and centre-back, Kortney Hause, to his squad this month.
