According to a report from Goal, Serie A side Napoli have made an approach to sign Liverpool’s Nathaniel Clyne this summer.

The Italian side have been in the market for a new right-back with Tottenham’s Kieran Trippier heavily linked with a move that is expected to cost in excess £25 million.

Clyne would be a considerably cheaper option for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, with Goal revealing that Liverpool value him at just £15 million.

The emergence of Trent Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool has all but ended Clyne’s future at Anfield, which is why he was sent on loan to Bournemouth in the January transfer window. The report reveals that the Cherries are also interested in signing the 28-year-old permanently, with West Ham also keen.

Clyne is among a number of players expected to leave Liverpool before the start of next season, with Jurgen Klopp looking to trim his squad according to the report.

The England international will leave Anfield after making over 100 appearances for them in all competitions since making the move from Southampton back in the summer of 2015.

Italy would be an interesting option for Clyne this summer, where he can take on a new challenge while having the opportunity to play in the Champions League, something he won’t be able to do with the likes of Bournemouth and West Ham.
