According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli have opened talks about a deal to sign Legia Warsaw defender Michal Karbownik.
It’s claimed that Napoli are the most interested Italian side right now. They have ‘held discussions’ with those involved, likely Karbownik’s representatives and Legia themselves.
Karbownik isn’t an immediate priority according to this report, because Napoli first want to sort out contract extensions for their current players before making signings.
Napoli want to assess Mario Rui and Faouzi Ghoulam when the season returns. If neither of them impress, they could well move for Karbownik.
This could be bad news for Leeds. Sport.pl recently noted that the Whites want him, but can’t afford to buy him right now.
The plan would be for Manchester City to sign Karbownik, then loan him straight to Leeds with the option for them to purchase him for the long-term.

That’s somewhat similar to Jack Harrison; he is still owned by City, but after two years at Leeds, he seems likely to stay at Elland Road permanently.
Karbownik would be an exciting addition having notched six assists from left back this season, but with fellow Poles Arkadiusz Milik and Piotr Zielinski at Napoli, the Italian giants offer a real threat.
