Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly wanted to bring Diawara to the Premier League – but he’s keen to stay in Serie A with Roma instead.

Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara has turned down a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to Sky Italia, as he dreams of a move to Roma instead.
You’d think Wolves should be a club many players would queue up to join after a rapid rise in the last two years.
Not only do they have some of the richest and most ambitious owners in European football, the Black Country giants also have a top class manager in Nuno Espirito Santo and a crop of established international stars from Raul Jimenez to Ruben Neves, Rui Patricio to Joao Moutinho.
But that is still not good enough for Diawara.
After starting eight Serie A games in 2018/19, the Guinea international is set to leave Carlo Ancelotti’s Napoli with the club dropping his price-tag to just £16 million (CalcioNapoli24). But Sky claims that he has turned down the chance to move to Wolves this summer.

Instead, Diawara wants to join Napoli’s Serie A rivals Roma as he is apparently keen to work with new Giallorossi coach Paulo Fonseca.
Like Wolves, Roma will be playing Europa League football next season. But while Nuno Espirito Santo’s high flying side look set up to go from strength to strength in the coming years, Roma are a team in turmoil.
The 2001 Scudetto winners are stuck in transition once again with divisions behind the scenes leading to the controversial departures of club legends Daniele de Rossi and Francesco Totti. Diawara might just have bet on the wrong horse.
