Newcastle United, West Ham United and Bournemouth are all said to be chasing Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe.
According to a report in the Sunderland Echo, Bournemouth are leading the race for Jermain Defoe’s signature.
Newcastle United and West Ham United have both been credited with an interest in Defoe (The Sun).
But it is Bournemouth who are believed to be at the head of the queue.

Eddie Howe believes that Defoe could could enhance the quality of his attacking options, and it is believed that the striker is edging closer to a move to Dean Court.
West Ham and Newcastle now have work to do, if they are to persuade Defoe that moving to them would be preferable.
Defoe is thought to be available on a free transfer, following Sunderland’s relegation to the Championship.

The Black Cats simply cannot keep hold of the England international, who wants a move to keep alive his dream of playing at the World Cup.
Defoe has netted 14 goals for Sunderland this season, putting him clear at the top of their scoring charts.
