Bolton Wanderers and Brentford have been linked with Newcastle United’s Adam Armstrong in the summer transfer window.
Armstrong has been at Newcastle his entire professional club football career so far and has a contract with the Magpies until June 2020, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
The 20-year-old striker played on loan at Coventry City during the 2015-16 campaign and at Barnsley last season.
According to The Chronicle, Newcastle are preparing to send Armstrong out on loan for the first half of next season.
It has been reported that the England Under-20 international striker is expected to be sent to an EFL Cup, and that Bolton Wanderers and Brentford are interested.
Bolton, who won promotion from League One at the end of last season, are reported to be keen on signing Armstrong.
“Brentford also made checks on the 20-year-old from Chapel House earlier in the summer but no deal was struck,” adds the report in The Chronicle.
Newcastle won automatic promotion from the Championship at the end of the 2016-17 campaign and will feature in the Premier League next season.
