Tottenham’s squad will be tested this summer.

Tottenham’s players have been starring at this summer’s World Cup, but that also means the squad will be light when pre-season begins next week.
Spurs go on tour to America in mid-July and there will be opportunities for young under-23 players to mix with first team talent.
Football London name six Tottenham academy youngsters who will be in contention to earn a place on the plane.

They are Tashan Oakley-Boothe, Kazaiah Sterling, Reo Griffiths, Oliver Skipp, Samuel Shashoua and Anthony Georgiou.
Oakley-Boothe played in pre-season last year and earned a place on the bench in the EFL Cup but did not have any more first team involvement.
Winger Anthony Georgiou was one of the stars of pre-season last year, impressing against Roma, and he will want another chance to show what he is capable of.

The most intriguing area is up front, where Sterling and Griffiths will be competing with Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen to earn a back-up role behind star man Harry Kane.
Winger Marcus Edwards starred on pre-season tour in 2016 but he has not kicked on since and faces an uphill task to convince Mauricio Pochettino he should play a first team role in 2018/19.
If he is going to turn it around, then returning with a new attitude and determination next month is his first step to rescuing his Spurs career.
