Jurgen Klopp will freshen things up at Premier League outfit Liverpool with Kent, Reading loanee Sheyi Ojo and Taiwo Awoniyi all facing uncertainty.
A number of Liverpool’s fringe players and forgotten men are at risk of being sold this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to reshape his squad, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Klopp has put his faith in a small group of key players this season with The Reds fighting for glory on home and European fronts. As a result, a number of youngsters and out-of-favour squad members were allowed to leave on loan.
And it seems that many of them are now facing an uncertain future with the transfer window looming large. The Liverpool Echo believes that the futures of Ryan Kent, Sheyi Ojo, Pedro Chirivella, Taiwo Awoniyi, Ovie Ejaria and Allan de Souza are all uncertain.
Kent would perhaps be the most surprising sale given that he impressed Klopp in pre-season last year and has shone on loan at Steven Gerrard’s Rangers. Liverpool though would consider offers of £12 million, a fee that appears to have ruled Rangers out.
Awoniyi, meanwhile, is available for £12.9 million. Schalke are interested in a striker who has scored seven goals in eight starts on loan at Mouscron in Belgium.
Ojo, Ejaria, Chirivella (below) and Allan are also playing elsewhere, for Reims, Reading, Extremadura and Fluminense respectively.
The report points out that Liverpool are unlikely to sell every one of these six players but, conversely, they are all at risk of the axe.
