Kieran Dowell is one of several Everton youngsters who could feature in Marco Silva’s plans, despite having ended the campaign out of Nottingham Forest’s – according to Sky Sports (live blog entry 15:23).

Ormskirk-born Dowell, who is a product of Everton’s academy, initially impressed at Forest, for whom he scored nine goals and set up four in his first 28 Championship outings.

However, the 20-year-old appeared to fall out of favour after Aitor Karanka’s appointment as manager at the City Ground, and failed to make a single direct goal contribution between late January and early April, at which point his campaign was brought to a premature end.

Dowell though recovered to help England’s Under-21s to Toulon Tournament success earlier this month, and according to Sky Sports he – along with Jonjoe Kenny, who also played in the Tournoi – is unlikely to be affected by Silva’s plans to reduce the size of Everton’s squad.

The broadcaster adds that Ademola Lookman and Dominic Calvert-Lewin will both be part of the Toffees’ set up – which will disappoint Bournemouth and others, who it states believed they could entice the latter player.
