Leeds United could be set for another busy summer in the transfer market.
Leeds United plan to move on a number of players, including four who were signed during last summer’s transfer window, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Those named are goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald, Vurnon Anita, Pawel Cibicki and Hadi Sacko – the latter of whom had spent the previous season on loan at Elland Road.
The news should come as little surprise, with none of the above having featured regularly during Paul Heckingbottom’s reign.
Of those, Anita made the most appearances (six) following Heckingbottom’s Februray appointment by Leeds, while Cibicki failed to feature at all.
In total, 14 senior players arrived at Leeds between June and September 2017, three of whom – Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Matthew Pennington and Pierre-Michel Lasogga – have already returned to their parent clubs.
Losing the quartet would increase that number to seven – giving Leeds a 50 per cent success rate – and again raise doubts about the competence of the Whites’ recruitment team.
