A report in the Evening Times has claimed that Celtic pair Nadir Ciftci and Gary Mackay-Steven are both being targeted by their former club Dundee United.
The Evening Times reports that the Scottish Championship side are preparing to make several loan bids for members of Brendan Rodgers’ squad, with two of the men that have left Tannadice in recent times seemingly being right at the top of their list of preferred targets.

Rodgers has previously spoken of wanting to cut the numbers within his squad (via Daily Record), and the Evening Times states that Ciftci is unlikely to play regularly under the former Liverpool boss, which perhaps suggests that the door will be open for him to leave if the Tangerines make a suitable offer.
However, the Evening Times does not shed any light as to whether Rodgers will be willing to let Mackay-Steven move on.

The 25-year-old has made 38 league appearances since joining the Bhoys, but is yet to feature for the club since Rodgers took over, having undergone surgery towards the end of last season.
And despite telling the Daily Mail last month that Rodgers had been keeping in contact with him after he had to miss their pre-season tour of Slovenia, the incredible number of players available to the manager who can be deployed in Mackay-Steven’s position could perhaps mean that he faces an insurmountable task to get back into the team, potentially paving the way for a temporary departure.
