Could Patrick Vieira take charge of Sunderland should David Moyes leave?
Sunderland are looking at former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder Patrick Vieira as a potential replacement for David Moyes, according to The Sun.
It has been reported by the British tabloid that Vieira tops Sunderland’s emergency list of potential managers should results not improve or Moyes leaves.
Vieira is in charge of Major League Soccer club New York City FC at the moment, having previously managed the Manchester City Reserves team.

The Black Cats are struggling in the Premier League at the moment and could get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Sunderland are currently at the foot of the standings with just 15 points from 22 matches, three points behind 17th-placed Swansea City.

Moyes is a good manager, but he does not seem able to be able to get the best of out his players.
Perhaps a few signings in the January transfer window could help, but would that be enough to stave off relegation?
Vieira is one of the greatest midfielders to have ever played in the Premier League. The former Arsenal and City star knows English football inside out, but has he got the experience or the expertise to get a team out of trouble?
